The following statement may be attributed to Lisa Hughes, president, Coalition for the Advancement of Medical Research (CAMR):

"We commend the U.S. Appeals Court's decision to continue the stay and allow federal funding of embryonic stem cell research to temporarily continue while the case is being heard on merits.  Clearly, the Court saw the harm the injunction had on the science and the patients it will ultimately serve, and we hope the Department of Justice will ultimately prevail as this case continues to move through the court system towards a resolution.  Regardless of the final outcome, we look to Congress to take action on this important issue and do everything in its power to ensure the future of this life-saving research."
